We’re beyond excited to announce the 2nd edition of the Poeting Queer History series hosted by Unwanted Words at Pakhuis de Zwijger on Friday, September 13.

Join us for an evening that beautifully intertwines history, poetry, and the celebration of queer heritage.

📚 Kickoff Lecture: The evening will begin with an insightful lecture by a queer historian, setting the stage for a journey through Amsterdam’s vibrant queer history.

🎤 Four Performances: Witness four mesmerizing performances that bring queer history to life, each highlighting different aspects of Amsterdam’s rich queer legacy.

💬 Queer & Answer Session: Engage in a lively Q&A session with our performers and historian, delving deeper into the stories and inspirations behind their works.

But wait – we want YOU to be a part of this magical night too! ✨

Calling for Submissions: We are seeking 4 talented poets to grace our stage. Submit your work via the “Sign up here” button by August 11. You don’t need finished pieces to apply, just be ready to perform on the theme if selected.

Theme: Queer history in its broadest form – whether it’s a historical figure, a significant event, a myth, your personal queer journey, or our collective queer legacy. Let your creativity shine!

📅 Important Details:

1. Each performer will have 10-15 minutes to dazzle us with their magic.
2. Send us examples of your work in any format: writing, audio, video – published or not.
3. Include a link to your social media to help us get to know you better.
4. We’ll notify you via email by Wednesday, August 28, whether you’re selected to perform.
